You want to find out what the current battery life is on yours Xiaomi equipment? In that case, be sure to read our instructions. All you need is a few simple steps.
We have also published an guide for experienced users on our website, which also includes downloading the necessary drivers. You will find him in the following link.
These factors affect battery capacity
A mandatory drive when using the smartphone for a long time is a decrease in battery capacity. It decreases in the long run, after certain charging cycles, and the speed of charging itself has a certain effect on it. Do you want to find out how much the capacity of your battery in Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO devices is decreasing and when the capacity will decrease by 20% or 30%? You will learn all this in this article.
The process of charging and discharging the battery is called the battery cycle. The good news is that today's smartphones are more responsive and flexible to these cycles. These cycles are no longer just a simple number of charges, but an algorithm that contains several variables. This is, for example, the intensity of use. The bad news is that capacity degradation alone cannot be avoided, but it can be minimized.
But back to the original dilemma of this article. Why is the batteries running low? The real reason is in chemistry - batteries oxidize. In short, this is because the individual components lose their original properties and thus fail to fulfill their original role.
Not all particles with the same power work in this "ion dance", which moves from anode to cathode inside the battery. Some are converted to lithium oxide and others to lithium carbonate, which creates a kind of barrier that slightly limits the charging space. Imagine, in comparison, as moss stuck to the wall of a building or as a glacier stuck to the hull of a ship. This fact is escalating over time.
How can battery degradation be prevented?
If you want to maximize the battery capacity of your device, you can try a few proven tricks. One of them is, if you don't really need it, to charge the battery with an older and slower "5 W" charger. Ideally, you need to use an official charger that does not expose your smartphone to excessive temperatures. An equally important component is to keep the USB port undamaged.

If you want to go even further, charge your smartphone only to a capacity between 80 - 90% and then disconnect the device from the charger. For example, you can set an alarm on your smartphone (labeled "Disconnect Smartphone") to alert you to rising capacity.
One of the solutions is to regularly update your smartphone to the latest ROM version, in a stable version. It is optimized if it approaches the battery really gently. If you enjoy experimenting, using "root" devices, and using "beta" versions of software, you can overload your battery.
This is how you find out the status of the charging cycles
Some manufacturers incorporate a function to display cycles or battery health directly into their device's software. If you also want to find out these statistics for your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO device, we recommend that you use one of the third-party applications, such as AccuBattery, Kaspersky Battery Life or Ampere.
For testing purposes, we have chosen the AccuBattery application, which offers you detailed usage statistics. Right at the beginning, the application will offer you a battery calibration, thanks to which it will find out the current state of the battery compared to the original state of the new device.
In the app, you'll find various tips for improving battery life, such as charging in a certain percentage range, along with setting alerts. The application measures the "battery health" in numerical values from zero to one hundred and detects the percentage of degradation that the battery has suffered with each charge.
A great advantage is a comprehensive overview of the offer "Detailed record". You can find this offer in the following steps:
- In the main menu of the application, click on "three dots" and in the menu on "Settings"
- Scroll down to "Performance" and check the "Detailed Recording" feature, which is off by default
- After a few days of use, you will receive completed cycles and a general overview of battery life

Half of this article is already out of date. Scientists have discovered why batteries degrade. This is due to the material used, which releases compounds that cause aging over time. You only need to mention the material and you will achieve a longer service life.
