Our favorite Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi brings a novelty in the form of its new glasses with augmented reality, with a label Xiaomi Mijia Glasses. They surprise with a Snapdragon processor, but also have a sensor with a resolution of up to 50 MPx, and a brightness of up to 3000 nits.
Xiaomi Mijia Glasses: New 50 MPx glasses with augmented reality
As you all know, the company Xiaomi has really different products in its portfolio. These are, for example, mobile phones, tablets, laptops, electric scooters, robotic vacuum cleaners or even toothbrushes. But the brand knows no boundaries, and among the new products available in China, these brutal glasses with augmented reality will now be included Xiaomi Mijia Glasses.
In a way, these glasses may remind you of the well-known Google Glass project, which was not very successful in the end. However, the smart glasses market is currently growing, as evidenced by products such as Snapchat Spectacles, Ray Ban Stories or the new product from Xiaomi.
More than just glasses: Snapdragon processor and 3 GB of RAM
Although at first glance this product really looks like glasses, with a camera on the left side and a projection lens on the right side, the technical equipment of these glasses can be compared to many mobile devices.
The equipment includes an unspecified processor from the brand's workshop Snapdragon. It is complemented by up to 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Among other functions, we can mention Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity, as well as 1020 mAh battery with 10 W magnetic charging.
As for the screen on which you view the content, it is a Sony panel. It offers technology MicroLED, a peak brightness of 3000 nits and a pixel density of up to 3281 ppi. The design of these glasses is not as inconspicuous as in the case of the Ray-Ban model. These are not stylish glasses with a "hidden" camera, but a full-fledged product with the possibility of using augmented reality.
Weight is also an important data. Model Xiaomi Mijia Glasses it weighs exactly 100 grams. This is twice as much as the model from Ray Ban, but Xiaomi builds on a powerful construction loaded with technologies.
If you are wondering whether these smart glasses can also take a "first-person" shot, the answer is yes. The structure includes two cameras. The main team is 50 MPx sensor, which is additionally complemented by a second periscopic telephoto lens with resolution 8 MPx. He will offer up to 5-fold optical a 15x digital zoom with optical image stabilization. In addition, a convenient function is also the possibility of taking a picture in reverse, up to ten seconds after pressing the shutter button.
In addition to integrated cameras and a screen where you can watch content in augmented reality, there is also an integrated real-time translator. It will show you exactly what your partner is saying on the screen or the other side. This is a really practical and useful feature, but currently only the link between English and Chinese works, and vice versa.

Price and availability of new smart glasses
New with the name Xiaomi Mijia Glasses it is available exclusively on the domestic, i.e. Chinese, market. They are on sale at the official retail price on the Xiaomi YouPin platform 2699 Chinese yuan. In the current recalculation, this is approximately 388 € respectively. 398 USD. We do not yet have any other information available about the possible global availability of this product.
