Android TV is an operating system optimized for televisions and remote control. It is found in various smart TVs, TV Stick or TV Box solutions, and the Chinese company Xiaomi also uses it in its products.

But what if the system response is poor and applications are slow? We have some tips and tricks for you in today's tutorial.
This is how you speed up the Android TV operating system
Many TVs on the market today, as well as various TV boxes, are still sold with 1 GB or 2 GB of RAM. These are really low values, which, together with a less powerful processor, usually cause a slowdown or a gradual overflow of memory + storage.

However, the solution lies, as with Android smartphones, in the settings. Go to the "Settings" application and activate the developer mode ("Developer Mode"). It is enough to click the controller several times on the system assembly, and the options for developers will appear in the system.
Developer options unlock new features
These options unlock new features that you can use to speed up your TV. These are specifically the animation settings, which, like on an Android smartphone, can be shortened to 0,5x or even turned off completely.
Another useful setting is to limit the number of tasks that a TV or TV Box with lower RAM will leave in the background. Instead of five tasks, you can choose two, for example, which will speed up the device, but also close unnecessary background applications.
There is also another setting in the developer options that will speed up your TV. This is specifically about GPU rendering, which is probably turned off even on your device from the factory.
Alternative launcher and turning off "bloatware" applications
You can also eliminate recommendations, or content suggestions that your Android TV system offers you. If you don't find a separate application for content suggestions in the settings, go to settings, between applications, go between system applications, and here choose "Android TV Home". In this application, select "Uninstall all updates". You can also go to the Play Store and turn off "Automatic updates".
In the Play Store you will find many applications optimized for the TV. There are also alternative launchers, such as FLauncher, which will simplify your home screen. If, on the other hand, you do not like some built-in applications without the possibility of uninstallation, you can stop this application in the settings of the given application (choose "Force stop") and you can also uninstall its updates.
In the end, all these settings should help your device to "breathe" a little better and should significantly improve the resulting Android TV user experience. Will you try them too?
