Both models succeeded in design
Let's start with the traditional look. We have to admit that both watches have an attractive design and look great. In this respect, however, the GTR version has a bit of an upper hand. Just because of the thickness of the body, which is almost 3 mm lower. The weight, which is lower for all materials used in the GTR than for the Stratos, also speaks in favor. With aluminum it is up to 13 grams.
When comparing designs, we must lean towards a newer model of a watch, also given the number of variations in which it is supplied. There are two dimensional versions to choose from, with a 47 and 42 mm diameter dial. Four more versions are then available from each, including special editions. From these GTR variations, really everyone can choose.
Both watches also have physical buttons. There are three in the Sratos version and two in the younger watch. These are multifunction buttons that have multiple functions assigned to them, depending on which mode or application you use them.
GTR performance parameters are missing
Amazfit Stratos is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, seconded by 512 MB of RAM. You will not find this information in the official specifications of Amazfit GTR. Newer watches have closed software and therefore it is probably not even necessary to examine their components.
What is detrimental, however, is the lack of storage and the lack of support for playing music directly from the watch, without the need to use a smartphone. Stratos have this feature and the available file storage is 4 GB.
The display is incomparable
In this section we will write it straight: "Amazfit GTR wins". The AMOLED touch panel with a diagonal of almost 1.4 inches and a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels simply with the LCD at Stratos will not even be compared.
Better readability in the sun and a more faithful display of colors are the main advantages of the AMOLED panel. In addition, he received a protective layer of Gorilla Glass 3 and a coating that repels fingerprints.
Connectivity is almost the same and yet different
Both watch models support Bluetooth, but in a different version. With GTR, pairing should be faster and less prone to connection loss. In addition, version 5.0 is more energy efficient. Stratos have older Bluetooth 4.0. However, they also have a WiFi module, which GTR does not have.
So far, however, we have only really used it to update the software. Amazfit GTR watches are likely to be updated via Bluetooth and the smartphone application. The new update will be downloaded to your application via your smartphone and then uploaded via Bluetooth.
GTR, on the other hand, have a module NFC. However, its use in our region is questionable. However, in its home China, it has a wide range of uses and great support from third parties. Both watches use modules to obtain position information GPS aj GLONASS.
The battery at GTR has no competition
Finally, good endurance. With a battery with a capacity of 410 mAh, the manufacturer guarantees such endurance:
- 24 days of daily use – 15/150 heart rate monitor, constant sleep monitor, GPS on for 30 minutes a day, 4 messages, wrist raised 5 times, NFC use XNUMX times a day, XNUMX minutes for other operations.
- 56 days of basic tracking mode with Bluetooth turned off, heart monitor turned off, and about 100 times per day looking at the display.
- 40 hours with continuous location monitoring.
The endurance of the Stratos watch does not come close to these numbers at all, except for the difference of five hours with the position monitoring running.
Sensors and resistance
The sensors used in the newer watch are simply improved versions in the older ones. The required data on the user's physical condition or training measurements should be more accurate for GTR. Support for up to 16 sports modes speaks in favor of "Stratos". Amazfit GTRs support them "only" 12.
Both watches are waterproof in the 5 ATM standard, which corresponds to approximately 50 m of immersion below the water surface.
Price and conclusion
Amazfit GTR has already been launched at a well-known global retailer in a flash sale and can be purchased for the price 127 € / CZK 3356. It is an aluminum version and a steel version in an international design.

What to add at the end? If you like listening to music during training and don't want to carry a smartphone with you, Amazfit GTR is not for you. In other indicators, however, Amazfit Stratos are significantly defeated. And as usual, you have to decide for yourself in the end.
