Two weeks ago, Apple introduced its latest iPhone 14 series. Apple has already adopted some of the features of Android several times, but this time it was directly from Xiaomi.
Such mutual "borrowing" of functions is not unknown in the Android vs. iOS. Companies have been doing this for years, which is perhaps why the two operating systems are starting to merge.
"Copying" is common
In recent years, Apple has adopted from Android, for example, the ultra-wide-angle sensor, night mode of the camera, application folders and many other things that have appeared in iPhones over the years.
Currently, it appears that Apple has also integrated two lesser-known functions into the new iPhone 14, which were first implemented in smartphones by the Chinese giant Xiaomi.
Better regulation of automatic brightness thanks to two sensors
A smartphone already came with this gadget Xiaomi Mi 10, which was introduced at the beginning of 2020. Xiaomi used dual ambient light sensors in it, which made the regulation much more accurate.
And the iPhone 14 now has that too, as their technical specifications show. Even one sensor is on the front and the other is on the back. This allows for much more precise brightness adjustment. The feature has since made its way to devices from companies like Google and Samsung.
Xiaomi's executive on the dual ambient light sensors at the time of the launch of the Mi 10 series said that more light source data is collected in different lighting scenarios to get more accurate ambient light data.
Dual-frequency GPS
This function is also new to the iPhone 14 series, but only in the case of the Pro models. The technology uses two GPS frequencies to improve the accuracy of the smartphone's location. This will be used mainly by map applications for more accurate localization.
Xiaomi has had this feature since 2018, when the flagship was launched Xiaomi Mi 8. Over time, the technology also found its way into smartphones from OnePlus, Samsung and others.
