May 19, 2020 was the day Xiaomi introduced through an online conference global version of the popular MIUI 12 superstructure.
A long crowd of fans was waiting for this day, including us, of course. What unpleasantly surprised us, however, is the absence of a number of great tweaks and features that do not seem to have made it to the global version.
The global version is well trimmed
MIUI 12 is characterized by great progress in the field of system flow, functionality, but also increased security of personal data. Unfortunately, not all features from these areas will be seen in the global version.
In simplicity, features such as Dark Mode 2.0, improved multitasking and some security systems have entered the global distribution. The rest of the pile of great news is still in sight.
One of the biggest areas of the MIUI development team is an improved camera with new recording capabilities, brand new Always On Display animations and, last but not least, a sophisticated Mask system designed to protect personal data. Unfortunately, none of these features are yet in Global MIUI 12.
The renewed built-in applications such as notes, gallery, the new Health application or the camera with the absence of video recording with your "clone" will also be missing, but there are still not enough unpleasant news.
The most expensive and latest Xiaomi smartphone is only in the second round
Xiaomi also released at the online conference a list of devices with a tentative release date for the MIUI 12 update.
Xiaomi a Redmi it is also known for its long-term support of its devices. However, what surprised many users is the fact that the flagship model Mi MIX 3 5G from 2019 is not at all on the list of supported models.
Also interesting is the fact that the latest flagship model Xiaomi Mi 10 or more advanced sibling Mi 10 Pro will receive an update only in the second phase. These are the latest and most important models of the manufacturer, and they are still the most expensive.
Owners of these smartphones certainly expect to be given priority in updates, but this will not happen. We are also sad with the Xiaomi Mi 10 model. A possible solution in this case will be the installation of a modified local ROM from Miuios.cz, which is based on the Chinese version of MIUI and contains all the functions.
There are quite a few unpleasant surprises on Xiaomi, but we believe that they will correct these missteps in the coming months. Until then, don't forget to follow our website regularly and subscribe to the great news not only about MIUI 12 in your email inbox.
