Xiaomi plans to massively produce smartphones with support for 2020G mobile networks in 5. This was said directly by the CEO and founder of the company, Lei Jun. It should be more than 10 devices only in 2020, with p price tag under $ 400, which after conversion is about 365 € / CZK 9.
5G mid-range smartphones
In China, 5G mobile networks seem to be expanding rapidly, as evidenced by the increased user interest in devices that support 5G mobile networks. Next year should be the year of the large entry of 5G mobile networks in the Chinese market.
Qualcomm and Mediatek plan to launch 5G processors for mid-range mobile devices. This means that this technology will also get into cheaper smartphones.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun revealed that all the phones it will launch next year with a price of over 2 yuan (000 € / CZK 6), will have 645G network support.
He also added that Xiaomi plans to launch next year at least 10 smartphones with 5G support. The information was released this morning at the Global Mobile Partners China conference. All these devices should be listed in the first half of 2020, so next year we can again look forward to a regular supply of new smartphones from the brands Xiaomi and Redmi.
As we already mentioned, 5G mobile networks are on the rise in China and Xiaomi does not want to lag behind in this segment. The company has already launched a 5G + AIoT strategy to increase the development and use of its AIoT (a combination of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things) services.

The expansion of 5G networks also has an impact on the development of new devices
Lei Jun also urged mobile operator China Mobile to speed up the rollout of its dual eSIM terminal service. Thanks to this service, it is possible to use multiple devices with one phone number, such as a smartphone and a watch.
The service is currently only available in 7 cities in China - Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu.
The new Mi Watch has eSIM support, but because the dual eSIM terminal service with one phone number is only available in a few cities, it also affects the sales of the watch. Ultimately, this may also affect the development of smartwatches in general.
It will be interesting to follow the development of 5G networks in our country in Slovakia. So far, it seems that our operators are not in a hurry to introduce this technology.
