And yet we did. POCO has officially introduced the POCO M4 5G smartphone on the Indian market. It also impresses with its low price and connectivity.
Indian version of Redmi smartphone
We already know this smartphone. This is an Indian version of a smartphone Redmi Note 11E 5G, which was introduced in early March this year, but with a finely modified design.
The processing of the smartphone itself is made of plastic. We can look forward to three color versions, namely blue black and typical yellow color. The dimensions of the news themselves are 163,9 x 76,1 x 8,9 mm and the weight stopped at 200 grams. The construction is certified according to IP52.
The design of the camera's rear module is strikingly reminiscent of a Google Pixel 6 smartphone.
90 Hz display and 5G connectivity
It is located in front 6,58-inch IPS panelwhich has a 90-hertz refresh rate and FullHD resolution (2 x 408 pixels). There is also a 1-hertz sampling frequency. It is located in the cut-out 8-megapixel selfie camera.
Inside is a processor from MediaTek, specifically the model Dimensity 700. The biggest advantage of this chipset is its 5G connectivity. It has 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage. We will also find support for microSD card.
The rear module contains only a pair of sensors. The main one has a resolution 50 MPx and is only seconded by a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It's a shame POCO didn't put on at least an ultra-wide sensor.
The fingerprint reader is located on the right side of the power button. It is interesting that in addition to the infrared port, we find an almost extinct audio connector.
We have a Bluetooth 5.1 and an NFC chip. The latest version is also available Android 12 along with MIUI 13 adapted for POCO smartphones.
Traditionally, there is a large battery with capacity 5000 mAhbut the manufacturer only supplies 18-watt adapter. However, given the price of the smartphone, we understand that. It is interesting to use POCO M4 5G as a power bank and charge another smartphone at maximum speed 5W.
Price and availability
POCO M4 5G will be available for purchase in India from May 5. POCO has not yet commented on availability in other markets. There will be two configurations: 4 + 64 GB for 12 999 rupees, which is about 161 EUR a 6 + 128 GB for 14 999 rupees, which is in terms of 185 EUR.
