Mobile cameras have moved incredibly in recent years and have completely pushed compact cameras out of the market. Huge progress in photography is attributed to Google, Huwaei, Samsung, but also Chinese Xiaomi. It only opened a new camera development division last year and paid off.
Latest Xiaomi Mi 9 comes with so far the best camera among Xiaomi smartphonesi. However, it is also high in the global ranking of the prestigious DxOmark camera test.
Highest video score yet
Triple 48 + 16 + 12 MPx a camera with wide-angle photos, 4 cm macro photos, Super Moon Mode and other "goodies". All this contains the camera of the new Xiaomi Mi 9. The engineer in Xiaomi, however, somehow forgot about optical image stabilization. Xiaomi was criticized for the absence of this element, but only briefly.
The testers from DxOmark released the official result of the camera test in Mi 9. The total score of 107 points is not at the top of the rankings, which does not apply to the score from video quality. In the video test, Mi 9 gained up to 99 points, What is so far the highest rating between smartphones. And yes, even though it doesn't have optical image stabilization.
In its review, DxOMark praises the consistent focus of exposure. According to them, the video camera captures pleasant colors s precise white balance, without any color shades or other color problems.
Noise levels are during bright light and typical interior lighting under very good control. Noise naturally increases in poor lighting conditions. The autofocus system works quickly and accurately in almost all circumstances. Xiaomi Mi 9 produces stable and very detailed 4K video with low noise.
DxOMark also praises LED flashwhich does an excellent job and maintains a delicate balance between high exposure and color. They also mention an area where Mi 9 could improve. It is a dynamic range, in shadow detail and when highlighting contrast.
