It appears that the new superstructure MIUI 14 it also works on older devices. It is apparently a relatively simple update to improve and stabilize performance. Models from 2020 will also see it.
Four older smartphones will receive MIUI 14
We are specifically talking about four smartphones that will receive the MIUI 14 superstructure. Namely, they are Redmi Notes 9, Redmi 9, Redmi 9T a POCO M3. They are currently running on MIUI 13, which will change soon.
These are not flagships, but rather capable mid-range models. It's good to see that Xiaomi is also interested in this class of older smartphones.
The only drawback will be that, alongside MIUI 14, the version of the operating system will not change, which in all cases is Android 12, so smartphones will not get Android 13 and the benefits associated with it.
All these smartphones originally came with the version of the operating system with the number 10 and, in addition, with the MIUI 11 or MIUI 12 superstructure.
When could the update come?
Needless to say, this will officially be the last superstructure update that these smartphones will receive. However, these are certainly not the last smartphones to receive the MIUI 14 update.
However, the manufacturer did not say when owners of these smartphones can expect the update. There is talk of a date sometimes between April and May.

However, this will probably only concern the Chinese market, but after a few months we will be able to see global and European MIUI 14 ROMs for the rest of the world.
It currently only has the update a few devices in beta testing, whose users signed up to test Xiaomi's Mi Pilot. This indicates that in the coming weeks, Xiaomi will start fully producing stable versions of the MIUI 14 superstructure.
