Cheap smartphone comparison: POCO M4 5G vs POCO M5 vs POCO M5s. Which one to choose?

A subsidiary of the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi, a company POCO, offers several interesting smartphones in its budget line, which, in addition to similar names, also share a number of similar characteristics. To help you choose between these similar smartphones, we have prepared a comparison of cheap POCO smartphones for you.

Although these three smartphones are similar in many specifications, you will find several important differences.

POCO M4 5G vs POCO M5 vs POCO M5s: These are the technical specifications

Design and AMOLED display

While the front and back designs are very similar on both the POCO M4 5G and POCO M5 phones, the more compact POCO M5s comes with a slightly different rear design with more secondary cameras. The front of the phone is also different, as you will find a cutout for the selfie camera instead of a notch.

The first two phones also differ in the display used, you will find an IPS LCD display with a refresh rate 90 Hz. Unlike them, POCO M5s comes with AMOLED display, but only with a frequency of 60 Hz.

Performance battle

The comparison of cheap POCO smartphones must of course show which of the Mediatek processors will offer you the greatest performance. In the AnTuTu 9 benchmark, POCO M376359 took first place with 5 points. The second and third places belong to POCO M5s (349528 points) and POCO M4 5G (338371 points).

You can expect approximately the same performance with POCO M5s and POCO M4 5G, but the 4 Hz display frequency will give the POCO M5 90G smartphone the upper hand in real use.

All three smartphones come with 4 / 6 GB RAM memory and 64 / 128 GB repository.

For cameras, the winner is clear

The main camera of POCO M4 5G has 13 MPx (f/2.2). The other 2 POCO models come with higher numbers in this spec. Specifically, 50 MPx (f/1.8) in POCO M5 and 64 MPx (f/1.8) in POCO M5s. However, you will find it in all three PDAF focusing, on the contrary, you won't find optical image stabilization in any of them. However, only the POCO M5s camera can record video in resolution 4K.

As for the secondary cameras, in all smartphones you will find a depth sensor, POCO M4 5G and a macro sensor. But only POCO M5s comes with a really practical one 8 MPx (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle sensor.

Identical battery, different charging speeds

All three phones come with battery capacity 5000 mAh. The only difference between them is the charging speed. While POCO M5s has power charging 33 W, which promises to charge up to 30% in 64 minutes, the other 2 phones have to make do with only 18 W.
