Updates for Xiaomi smartphones: How to do it?
The end of software support awaits sooner or later every Android smartphone. This also applies to security and system updates for Xiaomi whether Redmi smartphones. However, the Chinese manufacturer has prepared a website where it regularly updates the list of devices that are no longer officially supported.
It is a relatively simple solution that will provide you with all the necessary information about how your model is doing with updates. You can find the Xiaomi Security Center, as the aforementioned official website is called at the following link.
The regularly updated list will include smartphones or tablets from brands Xiaomi, Redmi a POCO. So if you want to find out if your product is still supported, just visit this website. There is even a specific section on this page that includes support information for various smart gadgets or IoT products from the Xiaomi ecosystem.
How long will my smartphone receive updates?
Xiaomi has also created on its website a list of current models for which it indicates the length of time for providing updates. These are devices that have the so-called AER (Android Enterprise Recommended) certification directly from Google.
For each model, the frequency of updates, the date the product was introduced to the market, the end date of security updates, and also the version of the Android system that the given smartphone will receive as the latest, are indicated.
For example, the Xiaomi 12T model will be updated for 4 years, receiving the last security update in the 8th month of 2026. This model will end up on Android 14.
