Spoločnosť Xiaomi has prepared a light version of its flagship smartphone for 2020. It bears the label Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G and features an affordable 5G smartphone with very good photo features.

For testing, we have a version available in a configuration of 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, in the Aurora Blue color version. However, you will also find other versions with higher memory on sale.
Packaging: There is no lack of packaging and fast charging
The packaging of this smartphone is very similar to the Mi Note 10 or Mi Note 10 Lite. The dark box with the number 10 and the 5G connection logo is really elegant and looks premium.
The box also has a provocative sign that emphasizes integrated Google Mobile Services.
After opening it, there is a paper envelope with accessories on the very top. This includes a clear silicone case for the smartphone, a needle for ejecting the SIM card slot, as well as a brief manual. Below is the smartphone with the label Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G.
The lower part of the box hides a white cable with a USB type C connector, which can be used not only for fast charging, but also for connection to a computer. Directly in the package there is also an adapter with a local European terminal, which can handle up to 22,5W fast charging. The manufacturer definitely deserves praise for that.
Device layout
The device itself Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G offers dimensions of 163,7 x 74,8 x 7,9 mm, the weight has stopped at 192 grams, which is really not bad given the size of the smartphone and the capacity of the battery.
On the front there is a really big AMOLED display, which, however, has quite distinct frames, especially on its underside. At the top of the display is a drop-shaped cutout that contains the front camera.
Above, there is also a group of necessary sensors and a speaker for telephony, which also hides a fine LED diode for notifications.
The left side is completely empty and on the right side there is a pair of buttons for volume control and on or off. turn on the device. These buttons are easy to touch and conveniently located.
At the top there is a popular 3,5 mm audio connector, but also a secondary microphone suitable for video recording or a practical infrared port. It can be used to remotely control home electronics and is supplemented by appropriate software.
USB type C and gradient processing
The underside is even more interesting. It contains a loud but average speaker, which is not complemented by a secondary output from the front speaker.
There is also a USB type C connector for fast charging, but also a slot for inserting a pair of Nano SIM cards (Dual SIM technology - Dual Stand-by). The slot does not include a microSD memory card slot.
The back offers gradient and glossy color processing. In its upper part, there is a symmetrical module of four rear cameras, which gently protrudes from the body of the device and also contains a resolution mark or dual LED flash.
This can be matched, for example, by the package. The back side then contains only the mandatory recycling information and the standard logo of the company Xiaomi, which is behind the production of this smartphone.
The body of the device combines tempered glass on the front and back, the edges of the device are made of plastic and do not contain any parts for the passage of the signal as in the case of metal models. Although the materials were viewed at a low price, the smartphone is very well made, all parts fit snugly and the back is curved just towards the side edges, which improves the final grip of the device.

smartphone Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G It is equipped with a large, 6,57 ″ AMOLED display with a total resolution of Full HD + (2400 x 1080 pixels). The screen itself covers more than 85% of the front wall and has a 20: 9 aspect ratio with an overall fineness of 401 ppi.
The display is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protective glass, the HDR10 + function is not missing, as well as the brightness at the level of up to 430 rivets (manufacturer's specification).
Using the AMOLED panel is a very good choice and immediately catapults this device into the premium category. We are looking at a device of the upper middle class, which will be rewarded by the faithful presentation of rich colors. The color spectrum of the display can be adjusted in the smartphone settings.
The maximum brightness of the display is sufficient and the text was easy to read even in direct sunlight. The minimum brightness was also fine and the AMOLED display becomes truly one of the biggest benefits of this smartphone.
Surprisingly, however, in this case the manufacturer does not offer the possibility to activate a function called Always-On display, which is available with other and more expensive devices.
Performance: Popular Snapdragon 765G
In terms of performance, there is an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor (1 x 2,4 GHz Kryo 475 Prime + 1 x 2,2 GHz Kryo 475 Gold + 6 x 1,8 GHz Kryo 475 Silver), processed by the current 7 nm technology.
The processor just used stands for a very interesting price / performance ratio. Not only does it bring modern 5G connectivity, but it's practically the best that Qualcomm has to offer, with the exception of the flagship 800 series. We could see this model even in the recently introduced OnePlus Nord smartphone. Xiaomi brings it in an even cheaper smartphone Mi 10 Lite 5G.
We were very satisfied with the performance during the testing process, the smartphone responded quickly and smoothly even during more demanding multitasking, but it was not ashamed even during mobile games.
The integrated graphics chip Adreno 620 helped in this discipline in particular. The results of benchmark tests via the AnTuTu service will also help you to reveal the performance of your smartphone.
Memory: Without microSD card
We received a basic version for testing, which offers 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Android saves just over 13GB of space when you first turn it on.
The storage cannot be expanded with a microSD memory card, this fact must be considered before purchasing the device. However, there are other versions on sale that will offer 6/8 GB of RAM and 128 resp. 256 GB of internal storage. However, some versions are only available in select markets.
With standard usage, we can confirm the fact that the basic 64 GB version should suffice for the vast majority of users. If you are a more demanding user, reach for 128 GB sooner.
Fingerprint sensor
Following the example of flagship models, the lightweight "Lite" version is also characterized by modern fingerprint reader technology. It is located on the front below the surface of the display, specifically in its lower part. However, it is probably not the same sensor as the Mi 10 flagship model.
Although the sensor responds a bit slower and still does not reach the standard speeds of conventional sensors located, for example, on the back. The problem occurs with damp or slightly greasy fingers, recognition for the first time is practically impossible in such conditions.
It is felt that the sensor in the flagship smartphone series is even more perfect, but given the price of the device, this is not a disaster. In addition, the location of the sensor is highlighted by backlighting and incorrect recognition is accompanied by vibration.
Android 10+ New MIUI 12
The smartphone also contains the latest operating system in the Android 10 version in terms of software, specifically the code name 10QKQ1.191222.002. There is also a security package from Google, which is available on 01.06.2020. Only the July package is missing, which the manufacturer will probably add in the next update.
Originally, the smartphone arrived with a standard version of the MIUI 11 graphical superstructure. However, during testing, we also received an update to a new version called MIUI 12.0.1 Stable version (V12.0.1.0.QJIEUXM). The update was almost 1 GB, so we recommend installing it over a Wi-Fi network.
The new system brings a transported design, updated animations, a notification center, but also a center of quick shortcuts, there is an improved dark mode, a lock screen, a new font, as well as security improvements. The update was a real surprise and the manufacturer deserves credit for its software support.

Camera: 48 MPx takes very good pictures
The Mi 10 Lite 5G features four rear cameras, which are housed in a single common module along with a dual LED flash. Namely, it is a primary 48 MPx sensor (f / 1.8), which offers very good results especially in daylight and is also complemented by three other sensors.
Specifically, it is an 8 MPx (f / 2.2) ultra-wide-angle sensor, whose images suffered perhaps too much distortion or. by stretching the edges of the photo, but the photos offered good details and faithful color rendering.
There is also a 2 MPx (f / 2.4) macro sensor and a 2 MPx (f / 2.4) depth sensor, which is primarily responsible for blurred backgrounds. He also does very well in connection with artificial intelligence, which determines the captured scene of the resulting image.
There are features such as HDR or panorama, but also support for up to 4K (30 fps) video. When it comes to video quality, we recommend choosing a lower quality 1080p (60 fps), which will offer much better stability as well as sharpness.

The front camera offers 16 MPx (f / 2.5), there is also an HDR mode, but also the ability to record 1080p video. This camera is located in a drop-shaped cutout at the top of the display.
Although this smartphone is not really excellent in any discipline and at the level of flagship models, its photographic properties are very good due to the selling price. We were surprised by quality photos in daylight, but the smartphone will not be embarrassed even in night mode.
Connectivity: Equipped with a 5G smartphone
In terms of connectivity, it is really rich equipment, which may not be the standard at this price. The phone offers 4G / LTE connection (channels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41), but there is also a modern 5G connection thanks to the used Snapdragon processor (channels 1, 3, 7 , 28, 77, 78 SA / NSA).
Other features include dual Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, with Wi-Fi Direct support and hotspot, and a new version of Bluetooth technology in version 5.1 LE, with aptX HD and aptX Adaptive support.
Dual GPS connection is also integrated using A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO and QZSS technologies. We did not notice any problem with the location and also the deviation of this smartphone was only in the order of a few meters compared to the actual selected location.
As for the DualSIM connection, we also did not notice a problem with a weak signal on one or the other SIM. You will also be pleased with the possible software setup and differentiation of the SIM card pair. Selected users will also enjoy the support of the integrated FM radio together with the presence of a standard 3,5 mm audio connector.
NFC functionality is practical, which can be used, for example, for contactless payments via Google Pay. There is also an infrared port for controlling home electronics, which is complemented by software in the form of a built-in Mi Remote application.
Battery: 4160 mAh is really enough
The smartphone is equipped with a battery with a total capacity of 4160 mAh. This is a very similar value to that offered by the competing OnePlus Nord model with the same processor. However, the Xiaomi went even lower with the price of its model, and the product of this Chinese manufacturer will pay off with good endurance on a single charge.
With standard use, which included active use of social networks, as well as hourly telephony, hourly watching of Full HD videos and occasional mobile gaming, we were able to move at the level of one full working day with a sufficient reserve in the form of 30-40% battery.
The less demanding user can definitely get for 1,5 - 2 days of endurance with the screen on for 7 - 8 hours. The battery can be charged via the USB type C connector, a fast charger with a power of 22,5W is integrated directly in the package. The smartphone does not support wireless charging.
Final rating: Xiaomi Mi 10 LIte 5G
Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G is a great model especially for those users who do not want to pay "full pay" for a new phone. In an excellent price / performance ratio, it also offers an AMOLED display, good photographic properties, NFC or good endurance on a single charge.
