Content and quality of packaging
The Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 2 Pro was brought to us by DPD courier in a silicone envelope weighing 1,19 kg. In the standard envelope, the compressor box was still protected with bubble wrap.
Since we have tested all versions of the Xiaomi compressor released so far, we noticed at first glance that the box is slightly larger compared to older models.
Inside is a compressor, extensions, Chinese manual, bag, charging cable and this time also a novelty, an extension tube with a length of 40 cm. The attachments are the same as the previous version, i.e. quick-release, narrower 6 mm and ball needle.
Significantly larger dimensions
As we already indicated, the new version of the compressor is visibly larger and heavier. Compared to the older model, which had dimensions of 123 x 75.5 x 45.8 mm, the latest model has grown in all directions to 152 x 100 x 63 mm. The weight has also increased significantly, from 490 g to 905 g, which is almost double.
Not only the dimensions have changed, but also some elements. Although the concept is the same and the design is based on the same model, we have several improvements and changes that will certainly please.
The front looks the same, there is a display and control buttons arranged in a circle. These are used to set the pressure value, turn on the light or change the mode. In the lower part, there is still only a charging USB-C port and holes for air flow on the sides.
However, the top side has changed, where, in addition to the ventilation grill, tube and light, we also find a button with which the tube can be removed. Unlike older models, we have to unlock the tube first using this button, that's how we can pull it out.
We have added an LED light in the rear, which we will talk about later.
Display, performance and modes
Not much has changed on the display of the Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 2 Pro, but it is understandably larger than the older version. It shows the pressure, the battery capacity in the form of a symbol with four parts and the current mode.
As for the modes, there are bicycle, motorcycle, car, scooter and ball inflation available. Each of these modes has a preset pressure value. For a bicycle it is 45 PSI, for a motorbike 2.4 bar, for a car 2.5 bar, for a scooter 50 PSI and for the ball we have a preset value of 8 PSI. There is also a custom mode that does not have a preset pressure value, but we choose it ourselves.
One of the novelties on the display is the display of the inflation progress, in the form of a strip consisting of parts.
The maximum pressure that the compressor can handle is 150 PSI. As for performance, it has increased significantly with larger dimensions, up to 2,2 times. The manufacturer no longer indicates the flow rate in liters per second, but the older model can inflate a 205/55 R16 tire from zero pressure to 2.5 bar in 8 minutes, while the new model can do it in 3,5 minutes.
Real performance comparison
Since the data from the manufacturer is not always worth blindly trusting, we like to check similar performance and durability data. Already in the review of the older generation Xiaomi Portable Air Pump 2, we brought you a table comparing the inflation speed of some wheels, so we will supplement this table with current data from the new compressor.

Endurance and charging
The new Xiaomi Mi Portable Air Pump 2 Pro compressor has a 2500mAh battery and can inflate up to 138 balls from 0 to 8 PSI, or 30 bicycle wheels from 0 to 80 PSI. It can also handle 16 car wheels, but here Xiaomi does not indicate the initial and final pressure.
Compared to the older version, Xiaomi Mi Portable Air Pump 2, the battery has increased by only 500 mAh, but it consists of three cells, increasing the voltage from 7,2V to 10,8V. Thanks to this, the endurance should be significantly better.
We checked it while blowing 26" mountain bike wheels. An older version could inflate such a wheel 12 times. With the new Pro version, the first of the four parts of the battery ran out only after six inflated wheels, and after the twelfth wheel we lost only the second part, which brought us to half of the battery capacity.
In this case, a significant improvement is visible, since the new compressor can blow approximately twice as much, than its predecessor.
New and stronger LED light
Older compressor models from Xiaomi also had a built-in small LED light, but the Xiaomi Portable Air Pump 2 Pro has one more. It is located at the back and is incomparably larger than the standard one at the top.
The situation is similar with the brightness, which is very decent. The compressor can also serve as lighting in complete darkness without any problems.
Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 2 Pro: Final evaluation
The latest generation of the Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 2 Pro compact compressor brings an incomparable improvement. At first glance, it differs from older generations in significantly larger dimensions, which indicates better performance and durability.
The new compressor comes with up to a 100 percent increase in performance and twice as long per charge. Another powerful LED light and extension tube in the package will also please you.
In this case, replacing the older model with a newer one is definitely worth it, as we have seen a significant improvement in all directions. The only negative is perhaps the larger dimensions, which is necessary for such a performance.
