It will please many gardeners and will pleasantly surprise you with its performance or intelligent functions. However, it is definitely not a cheap affair and its selling price is proof that it is a premium product of the brand.
The Segway already has a robotic lawnmower
The popular manufacturer is famous mainly for non-traditional electric vehicles, but this time it brings a novelty in the form of a robotic lawnmower segway navimow. This mower does not require any installation of perimeter wires or other tools for proper operation. With this mower, you are not in danger of damaging your garden.
The secret that the Segway hides is the "Virtual Geofencing" technology, which uses GPS location and a group of other integrated sensors. The company calls this combination EFLS (Exact Fusion Locating System), declaring the mower's accuracy up to two centimeters.
Just as you may know from robotic vacuum cleaners, the mower will create a mowing zone after first loading the lawn. You can modify this in the application, including reserving space outside mowing (for example when growing vegetables) and you can also create multiple mowing zones with individual transitions between the given zones.
Like the aforementioned robotic vacuum cleaner, the mower segway navimow he will find the most effective way and mow it as best he can. Thanks to the integrated algorithm, the mowing quality will be constantly improved, the mower will gradually remove any blind spots and also shorten the mowing time.
Anti-collision ultrasonic waves and blade stop system
The Segway assumes that this mower will be in operation much more frequently than a standard manual mower. As mowing will be more frequent, probably everyday, areas where grass grows stronger and taller will be a priority when mowing.
The vacuum cleaner that vacuums the floor is relatively harmless and has anti-collision sensors. In the case of the mower, we have ultrasonic waves designed to detect possible obstacles. The mower will then bypass these obstacles and its sensors will find a way to continue mowing.
System BladeStop from the Segway, the mower blades stop if a human or animal approaches the machine. If someone decides to steal your robotic lawnmower, you will receive a notification on the connected smartphone. It contains the current position of your mower in real time.
10 mAh, 200 m2 and IP X6 certification
The manufacturer claims that the mower can also handle slopes up to an angle of 45 °, thanks to 50 mm rubber wheels. The integrated battery with a capacity of 10 mAh is sufficient for lawns up to 200 m2 (depending on the mower version). However, this is not the end, if the mower is discharged, it will return to the charging station and, after recharging, will continue mowing where it left off.
The advantage is also increased water resistance with IP X6 certificationwhich helps to wash the mower with water and also an integrated rain sensor. This sensor sends the mower to the charging station in case of bad weather (you can adjust this setting in the application if you need to mow the lawn urgently even in such weather).
The application from the manufacturer also offers planning, displays the status of the mower and mowing in real time, along with the possibility of setting the cutting height. It can be adjusted as required in the range from 1,2 ″ to 2,4 ″. In terms of noise, Segway declares a maximum value of only 58 dB. This is a significantly quieter device compared to most mowers on the market.
Price and availability of a robotic lawnmower
Robotic lawnmower segway navimow is a more expensive device. Its price is higher than in the case of manual mowers, but it is also higher than, for example, premium robotic vacuum cleaners. The manufacturer has prepared four versions for us. The basic one, Navimow H500E is the cheapest and is designed for lawns with an area of about 500 m2. This version has Wi-Fi and is priced 1199 € / 1450 USD.
Other versions H800E, H1500E a H3000E range in price from 1499 € / 1800 USD until 2499 € / 3000 USD. As the price increases, so does the battery capacity for larger lawns.
The more expensive versions also include a 4G data connection or an anti-theft system using GPS. We do not know the availability in our country yet, as the product has so far been introduced for the American market.
