Xiaomi has long been known for selling not only smartphones, but also, in some cases, bizarre gadgets and home accessories, such as bamboo handkerchiefs.
Until now, all of these products have only been available to Chinese people through their own crowdfunding platform called YouPin. However, Xiaomi also brings these products beyond China through the application Sharesave.
So far only one country
ShareSave is a completely new cross-border e-commerce platform. Through it, Xiaomi wants to offer users outside the Chinese mainland convenient and cost effective a way to buy ecosystem products that were previously only available in China through the YouPin platform.
As it is an e-commerce platform, Xiaomi will mainly use it to sell products social networks. It is already urging customers to distribute the #SharetoSave hashtag. ShareSave is currently available only in India, but the perfect news is that the company plans to expand the platform in the future as well to other markets.
In addition to associating a strong Xiaomi community, ShareSave also serves as test soil for key markets, allowing Xiaomi to learn more about local demand for different types of products.
Three shopping modes
The ShareSave platform offers up to three shopping modes. Thanks to them, users will be able to get interesting discounts. The ways in which users receive these discounts are highly social and interactive:
- Pair-up - If a user makes a purchase with a friend, they both get an exclusive discount
- Drop - Possibly up to 100% off if enough friends or family join the "drop group"
- Kickstart - Contribute $ 0,2 to support your favorite products and earn up to 10x the reward
Xiaomi currently invests and cooperates with more than 100 IoT and lifestyle companies. With more than 132 million connected devices (excluding smartphones and laptops), Xiaomi has the largest IoT platform in the world.
As it is an official sales channel, the company guarantees all products local support (whether language or functional) as well as service. A limited number of products are currently available through ShareSave, but the company promises to expand its product range.
Currently available products include Mi x Wiha Precision Screwdriver, Yeelight LED Light Bulb, Soocas Sonic Electric Toothbrush X1 Lite and others. The application is available at Google Play, but Slovaks and Czechs will not download it yet.
