We have new information regarding upcoming electric car from the Chinese giant Xiaomi. Xiaomi even tested one vehicle in Chinese streets, which was not without photography. This is what it will look like.
Maybe up to two models
Xiaomi is reportedly working on two electric vehicles, while the first model is intended to compete with the Tesla Model 3 sedan. The codenamed model Modena it is supposed to be bigger and more powerful than the Tesla, and it will be similar in price to the XPeng P7.
Xiaomi is currently considering two models, each in a different price range. The first model should have an initial price of approx 35 000 eur and the more expensive one would start at the amount 48 000 eur.
They will differ in batteries
The more affordable model is expected to be powered by the standard 400 V lithium-iron phosphate battery and will be sold to the general public.
In cooperation with the German company Continental, it will have a number of sensors on its body, including cameras and five mmWave radars.
The more expensive variant will be built on high-voltage architecture 800 V and will use CATL's Qilin rechargeable battery from 0 to 80% in just 15 minutes. The model will be equipped Orin X processor by NVIDIA and will have LiDAR.
Maybe as early as 2025
Both versions will have their intelligent cockpit powered by processors Qualcomm 8295. The second codenamed Xiaomi serial vehicle Le Mans is scheduled to debut In 2025 and will contain three engines.
Both vehicles will share the same platform. Serial production should start in 2024, while the plant will be built in two phases, with an annual production capacity 150 vehicles at every stage.
