Suction power comparison
In this category, the rule is that the oldest is the weakest and the newest the strongest. However, the differences in suction power are not abysmal. All the compared models will definitely manage to pull common household dirt from the floor or even from the carpet. Rotary brushes also help a lot in this activity.
If we take into account the manufacturer's specifications, unambiguous the winner is Mi Robot Vacuum 2whose suction power is the strongest, up to 2100 Pa. In second place is a pair of Roborock S50 and Mi Robot Vacuum 1S with a suction power of 2000 Pa. The last is the very first Mi Robot Vacuum with an output of 1800 Pa.
Although we have not yet learned the noise parameter of the last model, it is more than certain that it will not be much quieter from its predecessors. If ever. Just the airflow makes a lot of noise, regardless of the sound of the electric motor. We will not announce the winner in this category.
From our own experience, we can write with a clear conscience that Xiaomi robotic vacuum cleaners do not belong to noisy appliances. At maximum power, they emit noise up to 70 dB.
Garbage and water tanks
You might say that the volume of the tank is not so important. However, the opposite is true. It depends on the volume, how often you will have to dump it. In the case of a larger apartment or more accumulated rubbish, it can easily happen that you will have to empty the hopper even during vacuuming.
You can see the tank parameters in the table. The first model, the Mi Robot Vacuum, has the smallest content. It also does not have a water tank, just like the second Mi Robot Vacuum 1S. They do not have the function of washing or moping.
The Roborock S50 can hold more rubbish and has a small water tank. A big innovation in this respect is the latest model Mi Robot Vacuum 2. Not only is its tank the largest, but it can also be used in combination for garbage and water.
In the case of the vacuuming and moping mode, a new 2 in 1 waste tank is used, which functions as a 200 ml water tank and a 300 ml dust box. If you want to use the vacuum cleaner only for vacuuming or only for washing, you will have to replace the tank with a version with a 550 ml capacity, which is not included in the package.
Battery and working time on one charge
Surprisingly, the latest Mi Robot Vacuum 2 model in this category is the weakest. He got a battery with a capacity of only 3200 mAh, which is enough for 110 minutes of work.
We already know from experience with previous models that the manufacturer does not introduce in this direction. On average, robotic vacuum cleaners from Xiaomi vacuum 1 m² in about one minute. From this it can be concluded that the latest Mi Robot Vacuum 2 can handle approximately 100 to 110 m² per charge.
All three compared models have the upper hand and their 5200 mAh batteries can clean up to 2.5 h.
Dimensions, weight and driving unevenness
There are only minimal differences in this evaluated category and it makes no sense to choose according to these parameters. All robotic "maids" can comfortably climb to a gap of 10 cm or more.
When driving through unevenness, all vacuum cleaners can overcome an obstacle up to 2 cm high.
Functions of an intelligent robotic vacuum cleaner
Here you can clearly see progress and development. Gradually coming models of vacuum cleaners gained newer functions, improvements and a better view. In this category, the winner is again the latest model.
Mi Robot Vacuum 2nd generation contains several intelligent solutions, which are covered by the R16-J computer chip.
The equipment also includes an electrically operated intelligent water tank and water pump. The device precisely regulates the water outlet and creates enough pressure to prevent it from blocking. Said chip integrated in the vacuum cleaner can also sense the water level. It intelligently controls the vacuum cleaner and does not move it without water, so that it does not damage the wooden floor for protection.
The already mentioned laser environment sensing system (LDS) can scan up to a distance of 8 meters. After the first cleaning, the Mi Robot Vacuum 2 automatically detects the room it will offer you for storage. So he can recognize rooms.
Older models do not have these features, but they are not to be discarded either. Of course, each of the vacuum cleaners can fully clean the required space.
