Just less than a week ago, Xiaomi globally showed the entire Xiaomi 13 series. Flagship models Xiaomi 13 a 13 Pro however, they will receive fantastic software support directly from the manufacturer. It promises security updates for up to five years.
Both smartphones have really top performance, which is taken care of by the currently most powerful processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2, which easily exceeds one million points in AnTuTu.
3 major Android updates
Thanks to him in particular, these two flagship models from Xiaomi can boast of really long support for updates. Specifically, the Chinese giant promises 3 big updates of the Android operating system, so when smartphones came with Android 13, the final stop will be Android 16.
In the case of security patches, Xiaomi goes even further. There, according to Xiaomi, we can count up to with five years. This is already at the level of other brands such as Samsung or Apple, so it can be seen that the company is really trying to entice customers despite the higher global prices, which start at 999 euros.
But it is also an increase compared to the last one Xiaomi 12 series, where we also received a total of 3 major Android updates, but only 4 years of security patches, so one extra year is definitely worth it.
We can only hope that Xiaomi will release new versions of Android in a shorter period of time after the official announcement, after all, it has to apply its own, rather demanding, MIUI superstructure to this Android.
As already mentioned by Lei Jun, the Chinese manufacturer this year does not plan to introduce the S-series, that is why all its current technologies have been thrust into the current Xiaomi 13 series.
Xiaomi 13 Lite will not get these benefits
It should also be noted that these planned updates do not apply to the cheapest model of the series - Xiaomi 13Lite. It is also due to the price, but especially to the processor used, which is a slightly older Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.
