Chinese technology giant Xiaomi posted a video of his intelligent humanoid robot called Xiaomi CyberOne, how he plays the drums. This is what it looks like in reality.
Xiaomi CyberOne: Humanoid vs Drums
A humanoid robot CyberOne from the company Xiaomi was presented for the first time in August 2022. Already in the first images, we could see what the capabilities of this robot are, which in the future can perform some difficult-to-access or physically demanding activities.

However, it was only a taste of the possible functions of this robot. Now the Chinese company brings us another video showing how the robot can handle playing musical instruments. These are specifically the percussion instruments, which he plays almost like a professional.
This is how the demonstration of the activity looks like in the video:
The CyberOne robot appeared at the press conference alongside a foldable smartphone Mix Fold 2 or smart watches. And thanks to its construction, this rather unconventional product has the ability to move independently, carry certain objects, as well as recognize human emotions or even play drums.
In the video above, which was posted on the Chinese social network Weibo, you can see that Xiaomi's robot can hold drum sticks like a pro, and it handles the instrument very well indeed. Of course, it's not about the speed that a professional musician will show you. However, for a humanoid robot with elements of artificial intelligence, it is really admirable.
Maximum speed up to 3,6 km/h and flexible OLED panel
But let's look at the details. A robot CyberOne can walk or pick up objects at level speed 3,6 km/h. At the presentation itself, the CyberOne robot appeared on stage and even brought and handed a flower to the boss of Xiaomi. Integrated electric motors with maximum torque on the level will be used to drive the legs 300 Nm.
The Chinese technology giant claims that the humanoid robot can recognize 45 different emotions based on the tone of a person's speech. Its robotic "face" is made up of a flexible OLED panel and there are also integrated cameras and microphones for spatial orientation and sound recognition. CyberOne offers a construction with the possibility of deflection up to 21° thanks to thirteen movable hinges.
Even though the music video robot Xiaomi Cyber One it's really fun and admirable, the device is currently in the early stages of development. The date of its commercial release has not yet been announced. However, the estimated selling price is known and is from 600-700 thousand Chinese yuan, i.e. in conversion approx. 89-100 thousand €.
