Just a few weeks ago, there was a mobile app with a label Xiaomi Health updated. New features include the addition of various sports recognition modes. A few days later, Xiaomi adds Rope Jump mode, which allows us to watch our skipping rope exercise.

However, the Chinese manufacturer chose a relatively unconventional but reliable technology for this monitoring. The application records and recognizes the sound of the skipping rope. To achieve an accurate and reliable number, the smartphone must be placed no more than one meter away from the trainee.
Jumping rope and counting calories burned
As we can see in the screenshots below, the new mode for recording the skipping rope shows the number of jumps, the time of jumping, but also the calculation of calories burned during exercise. There is also a choice of different jumping cycles, which may include relaxation.
At first glance, this may not seem like XNUMX percent reliable functionality. However, we actually tested the new function and the number of jumps in the application almost exactly coincides with the real turns of the rope.
