Technological YouTuber TechZG, which currently has more than 108 subscribers, has brought a unique comparison of night mode, specifically between smartphones Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. The comparison includes taking photos as well as videos.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra
The comparison video compares filming in dark, evening conditions from the very beginning. While Xiaomi's software tries to brighten the scene under any circumstances, Samsung leaves several darker areas in the default mode from the factory and does not artificially brighten them too much. A similar situation occurs when shooting in standard mode.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro in several scenes significantly brightens the resulting image even at the cost of higher noise.
In addition, Xiaomi turns on its night mode automatically when shooting at night, according to the scene being shot. Samsung software shoots automatically in normal mode, night mode needs to be turned on manually.
In normal mode, the photos are different, Xiaomi brightens the scene, Samsung has several dark spots. The situation is offset by using night mode for both devices.
However, a significant excess of light is also not ideal. Displaying text on a video, as well as a still photo, can cause Xiaomi to lose some detail. In specific cases, you can appreciate a darker scene with a more pronounced depth of field from Samsung, especially in "selfie" shots, where this smartphone dominates.
Night mode, whether automatic or manual, will show more light and more detail in photos with both smartphones. In the case of Samsung, the difference is really significant and we definitely recommend using night mode. On the other hand, the result Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro in v normal vs. night mode differs only slightly.
Overall, however, both smartphones produce really great night photos and videos, and their quality is often balanced. And even with such a drastic price difference - 999 euros for the Mi 10 Pro and 1300 euros for the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
