The novelty in the form of the Xiaomi Mi 10T traditionally comes at the end of the year as a light version of the flagship. It has a 64 MPx main camera, an LCD display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with 5G support.
After the publication of our article, in which we informed you that we are already testing the Mi 10T, many of you asked about the camera. We have decided to bring you a test of his camera before the complete review of the Mi 10T. In this article, we took for comparison one of the best affordable photo cars, Xiaomi Mi Note 10.
Technical parameters of cameras
We will start with the technical specifications of the cameras of both smartphones.
I 10T has three main cameras:

- Two telephoto lenses: 12 MPx with 50mm focal length, f / 2.0 aperture with 2x optical zoom, and 5 MPx with f / 2.0 aperture and 5x optical zoom
- Widescreen: 20 MPx with a focal length of 13mm and an aperture of f / 2.2
- Makro: 2 MPx with f / 2.4 aperture
- selfie: 32 MPx
Based on the parameters, Mi Note 10 wins. But let's look at the reality and whether these differences can be seen in the photos. We took photos in fully automatic mode without AI turned on.
Xiaomi Mi 10T vs Mi Note 10: The main camera
Let's start by showing what the main cameras can do in full resolution. As mentioned above, in the case of the Mi 10T it is 64 MPx and in the case of the Mi Note 10 to 108 MPx. Full quality must be turned on in the camera application settings, otherwise it consists of a few pixels together and the resulting photo is smaller.

Both photos are very high quality and sharp. However, they differ slightly in the presentation of colors. The colors in the Mi 10T photo are a bit paler, while the Mi Note 10 has bolder and more colorful colors. You can see it mainly in the sky and the roof of the main tower of the Dome of St. Elizabeth.
At a closer look, for example at the main tower clock or the information board in the lower left corner, you can see that the Mi Note 10 has a higher number of megapixels. Details are more visible and the photo is sharper.
We also took a few photos in standard quality. In general, we can say that in good light conditions during a sunny day, the quality of the photos is very good with both phones and the differences are not large. Once we managed to take a better photo with Mi 10T, other times with Mi Note 10.
Xiaomi Mi 10T vs Mi Note 10: Dynamic range and shooting against the sun
We used the sunny November weather to test the dynamic range. We aimed our smartphones at the window, where the sun shone. Taking pictures against a light source is a problem for many smartphones, so we were curious how the Mi 10T and Mi Note 10 handle it.
To our surprise, the Mi 10T is the clear winner in this regard. The outer sky is more overexposed and the colors are slightly more saturated, but the interior can be seen nicely without significantly underexposed parts.
The photo from Mi Note 10 has a special yellow-green tinge and the colors are so far removed from reality. There are also more underexposed parts, so for example, such a plant in the right part in the photo is quite extinct.
Another challenging test was shooting against the sun during lunch.
Mi Note 10 was able to significantly suppress sunlight, but the lower part of the photo is darker. The photo from Mi 10T is more illuminated by sunlight and in some places the details disappear, but for example the sky is more beautifully captured right here.
Wide angle lens: Xiaomi Mi 10T vs Mi Note 10
The first scene photographed by Mi 10T is a bit darker compared to Mi Note 10. There are more areas that disappear and merge with the background. In the second scene, the Mi 10T burned the building in the left part more, where the details are lost. These are not very visible even in the building in the background. In both cases, we like the photos from Mi Note 10 a bit more.
Zoom and macro
Unfortunately, the Mi 10T did not get a telephoto lens, so in this category it is a clear winner of the Mi Note 10 at a closer look. Especially 10x zoom is quite decent.
For macro photos, we expected better output from the Mi 10T, as it has a 5 MPx macro lens, while the Mi Note 10 has only a 2 MPx macro. In fact, photos from the Mi 10T using a macro lens were less sharp than from the Mi Note 10.
Portrait and selfie camera
When shooting a portrait, the goal is often to achieve the most natural skin color and a perfect bokeh effect. How did the Mi 10T and Mi Note 10 do? At first glance, you can see that in "Portrait" mode, as Xiaomi calls portrait mode, the focal length is significantly different.
As for the bokeh effect, it is similar for both phones. But we like the portrait itself more from Mi Note 10.
We weren't very happy with selfie photos on any of our smartphones. The photo from Mi 10T is too bright and on the other hand, the selfie photo of Mi Note 10 is too dark.
Interior with artificial lighting and night photos
Shooting during the night or under artificial lighting is often a stumbling block for many smartphones. Photographs often contain different glows from lighting or high noise.
However, this is not the case with the smartphones we have tested. Both handle night and interior photos at a very decent level with minimal noise.
There are a number of strong light sources in the supermarket, which both smartphones have handled very well. We like color saturation a bit more in the photo from Mi 10T.
Let's move on to night photos outdoors. Here we took photos first with automatic settings and then with night mode. The Mi 10T coped better with a light banner in the background, where the text is easier to read and the colors are more faithful. However, the Mi Note 10 handled the dark parts without direct lighting a bit better.
We also tested the photography of intensely lit objects. We proceeded as in the previous comparison. We took photos with night mode on and off. Here Mi 10T wins for us. Colors are brighter, richer, details more visible, and photos less illuminated by strong carousel lighting.
Final evaluation
As you had the opportunity to see in the photos in the article, this duel is quite close. Both smartphones take photos very well, but in several tests it had a slight top Mi Note 10. However, both smartphones have very high quality cameras with which you can take beautiful photos in different conditions.
Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G Global
The 10T surprised me with the quality of night shots, but a slight disadvantage of this model is the absence of image stabilization, which you will feel especially when taking close-up shots.
