Chinese versions with English
As all models of the new Mi Pad 5 are currently only available in the Chinese version, the tablet has a Chinese system, resp. only English is available. However, the seller will pre-install complete Google services on the tablet, including Google Play, so you can use the tablet right out of the box.

Stunning design
The design of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 tablet is (again) inconspicuously similar to an American competitor. The front boasts really narrow frames, which makes the tablet look really premium. Both the sides and the back are made of aluminum, which is more resistant to scratches and better dissipates the accumulated heat from the processor and battery.
At the back, the camera module is interesting, which has a similar shape to the one from the Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphone and contains two sensors together with an LED flash. We'll talk about cameras in the section below.
The thickness of the Pro model is only 6,86 millimeters and the weight of a reasonable 515 grams. The tablet runs on the Android 11 operating system and an extension from the manufacturer MIUI 12.5. A novelty is the specially designed MIUI For Pad superstructure, which emphasizes smooth multitasking and work with multiple windows at once.
Beautiful 2K display
What the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 tablet definitely fights will be its display. Offering an size of 11 inches, the manufacturer chose to use IPS technology, 2,5K resolution (2 x 560 pixels, 1 ppi) and a 600-hertz display refresh rate. The image will be sharp, beautifully readable and maximally smooth.
The maximum brightness is 500 rivets, there is no support for HDR10 technology, Dolby Vision and color adjustment based on the True Tone environment. There was also a direct comparison with the biggest competitor in the form of the iPad Pro.
Powerful Snapdragon processors
Qualcomm processor deployment revealed recent leak, where the tablet underwent a performance test in Geekbench 5. Snapdragon 870 is an eight-core processor made with 7-nanometer technology, which also supports fifth-generation networks. It will be fitted in the more expensive Xiaomi model My Pad 5 Pro. The cheaper Mi Pad 5 will have a Snapdragon 860. In both cases, they are powerful processors.
They are seconded by the Adreno 650 graphics accelerator. Additional equipment includes 6 GB of DDR5 RAM and 128-gigabyte UFS 3.1 storage. Support for micro SD memory cards is missing.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 tablet will not be ashamed even in the area of cameras. The selfie camera of both models has 13 MPx. The Pro model got the main one 50-megapixel sensor and an additional 5-megapixel sensor.
New stylus and keyboard
Along with the tablet, Xiaomi also introduced a new keyboard and stylus. The keyboard will be powered directly from the tablet via the pins, so the user does not have to deal with pairing or charging it. Just connect to the tablet and the strength of the magnets on the pins will take care of everything else. The case also protects the back of the tablet.
The stylus will also charge from the tablet wirelessly. Just place it on the side of the tablet, where it attaches to the magnets and starts charging. We could also see this solution with the Apple Pencil.
The stylus weighs only 12,2 grams and has a very fast sampling frequency of up to 240 Hz. It also contains two physical buttons that are used to control various functions, such as a screenshot.
Connectivity and endurance
Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro will also be equipped with eight speakers with Dolby Audio support. Furthermore, Wi-Fi in the latest version 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. The Pro model will also be available in a 5G version.
The battery has a capacity of 8 mAh and the manufacturer promises up to 600 hours of gaming. You charge it quickly with a 6-watt charge, which fully charges it in about an hour. The cheaper variant has an 67 mAh battery with a slower 8-watt charge.
Price and availability
Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will be in the basic configuration 6 + 128 officially available in China for the price of 1999 yuan, which is in terms of 263 EUR. The more equipped Pro model will cost 2499 yuan (328 EUR). All these prices apply to the home China, where the tablets will be exclusively available. We will see if they will reach the global market in time.
The price of the keyboard was set at 399 yuan, which is converted 52 € and the stylus will cost 349 yuan, that is 46 €.

Well thank you! I needed to buy a new tablet as I can't see it well without glasses (I'm getting old), so the river has something with a bigger display and the new Mi Fold is somehow for sale. According to the specifications, I ordered a Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 10 with almost identical parameters, only Lenova managed to release the product sooner. Hi, The Pro model in the Global version probably won't. The Chinese version only has English, if you don't mind, you won't feel any other difference. TradingShenzhen will install Google applications on your tablet and the tablet works best with us. We ourselves have a Chinese version of the Pro model and Netflix also goes there, although only at 480p resolution, but otherwise everything works without problems.
