Xiaomi has unexpectedly introduced a new series of smart TVs to the global market called the Xiaomi Mi TV P1E. It is a 43 and 55-inch smart TV with all the benefits associated with the Android TV operating system.
It's a cheaper piece by design
By design, these TVs look less premium than the more expensive pieces of the brand. In an effort to save some money, Xiaomi reached for a little more massive frames and plastic processing.
The image was spared and the company deployed 4K resolution (3 x 840 pixels) with support for HDR2 technology, but not HDR160 +. So it's four times the resolution of a standard Full HD panel. The refresh rate remained at a base value of 10 Hz.
It is therefore a classic LED panel and we cannot expect the use of OLED or QLED technology as offered by more expensive TVs from this manufacturer.
In terms of sound, the smaller 43-inch model features a pair of 8-watt speakers with Dolby Audio and DTS-HD support. The larger variant with the same support contains stereo speakers with a combined power of 20 W.
Very well equipped smart TV
Both versions share the same entrails. Specifically, we are talking about the Quad A5 processor, the Mali 470 graphics accelerator, 2 GB of RAM and the internal storage is 8 GB. Everything runs as smoothly as possible thanks to the Android TV operating system. So you have Google Now, Chromecast and smart home control at your disposal.
In addition, there is a Play Store app store where you can find your favorite apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Twitch and more.
You can conveniently control the TV via the included remote control, which works on Bluetooth technology. So no more aiming at the TV to switch the program.
There is also dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. At the back you will find all the necessary connectors. 3x HDMI connector, 3x USB 2.0, internet connector, optical output and audio jack.
Price and availability
Currently, only the smaller 43-inch model is available for the price of 299 euros. The availability of the 55-inch model is still unknown, as is its price. We do not expect it to exceed 399 euros.
