Our favorite Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi introduced its first mini computer under the name Xiaomi Host Mini PC. They have already managed to disassemble it in China and thanks to this we know which parts of the hardware you can improve.
Xiaomi Mini PC: You can upgrade this hardware
Just a few weeks ago we witnessed a new product with a label Xiaomi Mini PC. This product, which was quite unexpected, became part of the past press conference in China. And in addition to knowing its technical specifications, we already know the components that can be replaced with more powerful ones in the future.
The answer to the question of upgrading individual parts appeared on a Chinese blog that looked into the guts of this mini computer. As it turned out, the manufacturer thought about the possibility of modifying the RAM memory, as well as the possibility of adding a second hard disk.
Expansion of RAM memory or addition of SSD storage
The motherboard contains two RAM type slots SO-DIMM. By default, they are fitted with a pair 8 GB RAM modules from Samsung. However, you can change and increase them if necessary up to 64 GB. It serves as internal storage 512 GB SSD disk from the brand yangtze, with PCI-Express 4.0 interface.
Users also have access to the other M.2 slot to insert another disk for storage expansion. However, it is about SATA interface that limits the speed of reading and writing data. Still, it's good that this option is available. However, the compact dimensions of this device did not prevent exemplary connectivity. It also includes a connector HDMI 2.1, as well as a Thunderbolt 4 port or an Ethernet port.
Xiaomi Mini PC, a device ideal for office work, is currently available in China, in a configuration with a processor Intel Core i5-1240P. It is sold in conversion on the domestic market for approximately €530. We do not yet have any further information about the possible global availability or the official selling price of the global version.
