Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is already preparing its third generation foldable smartphone under the name Xiaomi MIX Fold 3. These are the first leaks that hint at the direction this innovative series will take.

After the announcement of new flagship devices, Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, whose local European presentation will take place next Sunday, February 26, 2023, there are also new leaks about other models. One of them is a lightweight flagship Xiaomi 13 Lite, which will also arrive in Europe. An even more interesting smartphone is Xiaomi MIX Fold 3.
The next generation of foldable Xiaomi smartphone is apparently in development and we already know the first leaks regarding the camera. The improvements should differentiate the new product from last year's model MIX Fold 2, which, however, was officially sold exclusively on the domestic, Chinese market.
Still exclusive to China?
Last year's model already relied on powerful photographic equipment developed in cooperation with the Leica company. Last year's version didn't get a global launch and unfortunately, it looks like the same will happen with the upcoming generation with the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3. However, the first information indicates a show in about the next six months.
Company partnership Xiaomi and companies Leica brought great improvements for flagship cameras of the highest quality. However, not all models received flattering reviews for photographic results. And that is exactly what the Chinese manufacturer wants to change with its foldable smartphone models.
The second generation offers a 50 MPx main camera, a 13 MPx ultra-wide-angle and an 8 MPx lens with a double periscope. It is this equipment that should be updated in the third generation and it is very likely that it will also improve the resulting photographic results.
The main improvement should be the powerful optical zoom, compared to the double zoom MIX Fold 2. Despite the fact that Xiaomi plans to improve its photo sensors, it seems that it will be a device with a very similar design language to last year. We will have to wait for more details and specifications that will be hidden in the extremely thin construction.
