Another new product from the Xiaomi workshop has appeared on the YouPin platform - OPPLE BELL. This is an interesting product because the outdoor unit (bell) does not need any batteries or an external power supply to operate. It is a so-called self-powering bell, manufactured by OPPLE.
Wireless doorbell with power generator
The OPPLE doorbell is completely wireless. It consists of two separate units - an external one, which is the bell itself, and an internal one, which is a receiver with a speaker. The distance between the receiver and the bell can be maximum 80 m.
When used exclusively indoors, this distance is of course reduced. The manufacturer states that it can operate indoors at a distance of 30 meters.
How does the bell work when it has no battery? If the visitor presses a button on the bell, energy is generated, thanks to which the bell can send information to the receiver.
The outdoor unit thus has a built-in module - energy generator. When the button is pressed, the kinetic energy changes to electrical energy, which then immediately sends a signal to the receiver, which rings. Thanks to the generation of energy, the OPPLE bell does not need a battery or power supply.
You do not need to use any extreme force to press the bell. Force is enough to compress to 5 Nso that the bell can be used without problems by older people or children. The button has even been tested for more than 100 presses. Concerns about the life of the bell are out of place.
Indoor unit - receiver
Of course, the receiver must be plugged into an electrical outlet indoors. It cannot work without a power source because it needs much more than an external unit that only sends a signal when a button is pressed. However, it is also a wireless unit, as it goes directly to an electrical outlet.
The receiver has 36 polyphonic melodiesfrom which you have a choice. The volume can be adjusted in five steps. This is sufficient and the ringing can be heard even with increased noise in the home.
You will also find a silent mode here, in which the receiver will only flash, without sound.
The receiver also has a small memory for storing settings. When you disconnect it from the mains and then reconnect it, the settings will be restored. Many bells are reset to their original settings.
