Xiaomi Portable SSD ranks among the latest products of Xiaomi. Until now, it could not be ordered, but we found it on offer on the well-known Aliexpress marketplace, where the seller also offers it with duty-free Aliexpress Standard Shipping Included.
The seller on Aliexpress has it at the best market price. For example, the well-known Banggood offers the same product for a coupon price of over €200.

External SSD from Xiaomi comes in aluminum design with a distinctive "notched" silver design. In terms of dimensions, the SSD is really compact. The specific dimensions are 77.8 x 46.5 x 7.5 mm and the weight is only 60 g. On it you will find an LED indicating connection and one USB-C port.

In addition to the 1 TB capacity, this SSD offers other attractive parameters. Speed up to 2000 MB/s sequential reading and writing it will ensure a problem-free transfer of files, or their use directly from the SSD.
Specifically, for example, downloading a movie in UHD quality takes only a few tens of seconds. Compared to slow HDD disks, you will get ten times faster transfer.
What can you find in the package?
The manufacturer includes a USB-C to USB-C cable supporting the maximum speed of the interface with the drive itself USB 3.2 Gen 2 × 2, which will allow you to reach maximum speeds.
In addition to it, however, you will also find a slower USB-C to USB-A cable supporting the USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface and, of course, a manual in Chinese.
The new SSD is compatible with many devices and operating systems, you will need at least Windows 7, macOS X 10.6, Android 9, or newer for all of them. It will also work with the Linux operating system.
Price and availability
The Xiaomi Portable SSD is currently on sale in China in a crowdfunding campaign for a price 649 yuan (€ 88), after its end it will be sold for 799 yuan (108 euros). Availability on the global market has not yet been confirmed, but the device will appear at least in our Chinese partners.
