In the spring of last year, Xiaomi and other leading companies withdrew from the Russian market due to the conflict in Ukraine. It seems that Xiaomi has now reconsidered this position.
Operating in Russia posed potential dangers to employees, the supply chain and even sales itself. Thus, a silent regime was introduced from China, which consisted of the absence of logistics, marketing and closing offices.
Xiaomi wants to return to the Russian market
However, Xiaomi is now determined to gradually return to the Russian market, where it has a market share of up to 33 percent. However, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is still not under control.
Xiaomi has reportedly launched recruitment for several marketing and advertising-related jobs, along with an account manager in charge of national product promotion.
This information is confirmed by Xiaomi on its profile on the LinkedIn social network and later confirmed by the Russian communications agency.
Kristina Petrova, the founder of the communications agency, also assured that, despite the fact that Xiaomi intends to operate as before the conflict, it will first focus on advertising and marketing, and only later on starting commercial activities.
It's not just Xiaomi
Although Xiaomi entered the Russian market in 2018, its products are not bought through the company itself, but through third parties, so the current strategy could well serve to restore a large part of future sales in the country.
Let's see if Xiaomi can get a foothold in a country that intends to return to normal in terms of its economy. Interestingly, Xiaomi is not the only tech company that has shown willingness to return there.
