Xiaomi will not stop at its only car. This is a model Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, a prototype of a brutal sports special that has three engines and was also tested on the legendary German circuit Nürburgring.
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra: Prototype special with three engines!
One of the biggest surprises that Xiaomi showed us at its event yesterday. Racing special Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, is very light and really powerful. Even though the original leaks hinted at the arrival of an SUV, Lei Jun has surprised again, bringing a vehicle that has little in common with an SUV.
Let's start with a design that is really stylish. It has a huge air intake through the hood, as well as a racing look typical of turn-of-the-century vehicles. A striking element is the yellow paintwork, as well as the massive spoiler in the rear part or sides together with the bumpers. Special designed primarily for circuits, but understandably has features of the basic SU7 model, from which it is based.
Aerodynamic improvements and more than 1500 horsepower
According to official information, this prototype has a "full carbon" design, and 100% of the skeleton is made of carbon fiber material. It is primarily about weight reduction. According to the IT Home website, up to 15 m² of carbon materials were used for this vehicle. As a result, the weight is reduced to only 1900 kilograms, which also applies to many modern gasoline or diesel vehicles.
In addition, the manufacturer also thought about aerodynamics. In my SU7 Ultra rebuilt the structure to a solid racing configuration with a large rear diffuser. The maximum example of this vehicle stopped and worth 2145 kilograms, which is more than the weight of the vehicle itself.
The standard Xiaomi SU7 is a single-motor electric vehicle, while the SU7 Max has two motors. Built for pure sports fun, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra boosts performance by offering up to three top engines: a double V8s engine and a V6s engine, resulting in the Xiaomi V8s “super engine”. It has 27 rpm and astronomical performance 1 horsepower.
The numbers don't lie and therefore acceleration cannot be an exception. These acceleration values are given by the manufacturer:
- Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 1,97 seconds
- From 0 to 200 km/h in 5,96 seconds
- From 0 to 300 km/h in 15,07 seconds
- Maximum speed over 350 km/h
And to get such raw power, the car has the world's first Ningde Times Kirin II battery: maximum power 1 kW, 330% of the battery will still offer up to 20 kW, maximum voltage is 800 V and charging is possible even at 897 °C.
It also has a specific brake system designed for circuits, AP Racing, with six-piston front and six-piston rear calipers, a braking distance of 25 meters / 100 km and a maximum kinetic energy recovery of 0,6 G.
Nürburgring record in less than 3 months
The Chinese manufacturer wants to establish itself in the TOP 5 when it comes to automotive brands, especially in the electric vehicle sector. But at the same time, he wants to collect victories even on the most demanding tracks. Therefore, Xiaomi is testing its vehicle on a well-known circuit Nurburgring.
The length of this circuit is 20 kilometers, the route has 40 left turns, 50 right turns, and a height difference of 300 meters. It was built in 1927 and is called the "green hell". It is therefore rightfully one of the most feared circuits on which vehicles are tested. And he also tests Xiaomi, on a complicated track, he wants to demonstrate the very good mechanical side of his vehicle.
Xiaomi achieved a time of 7 minutes and 10 seconds in its best lap so far at the Nürburgring. To put it in perspective, it's less than 3 seconds off the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT's record of 7 minutes and 7,55 seconds from March last year.

Considering the problems with the regular SU7, it will be more likely that no one will want to drive it and not that they can.
