Chinese company POCO has really ambitious plans for the future and does not want to continue to be pigeonholed only as a smartphone manufacturer. He plans to produce other types of technology as well.
It will not be just smartphones
In an interview with the portal Android Authority said Kevin Qiu, who is the company's CEO POCO. They want to create their own ecosystem of products.
The first products that will not be smartphones should be laptops, headphones or tablets. All these devices should be gradually introduced in 2022.
Changes will also occur in the superstructure of the Android operating system. POCO will use its own POCO A launcher that will be slightly different from the previously used MIUI interface from Xiaomi.
Angus Kai Ho Ng, who is the company's head of marketing POCO he noted that we will still have to wait for tablets from this company. According to him, this segment is currently overcrowded and there is no room for new manufacturers. They must therefore be patient in order to estimate the best time to attack this segment of equipment.
3 big updates for smartphones
POCO is also changing its strategy regarding smartphone updates. So far, 2 major Android updates and 3 years of security patches have worked on the scheme.
After the new one, the company wants to switch to a system of 3 major system updates and up to 4 years of security patches. Such a step would extend the life of the equipment and it is great news for end customers as well.
We wonder which smartphone will receive such a promise of an update. It is quite possible that it will be a model POCO M4 Pro 5G, which is scheduled to premiere on November 9.
But we don't know for sure, as it is supposed to be a middle-class smartphone. Anyway, we will be watching this show so that we can bring you our detailed article with all the specifications.
