HyperOS will become part of our lives in just a few weeks. When introducing a series of flagship smartphones Xiaomi 14 we will also see a change in the field of our own software, which will replace the previous massive graphic superstructure called MIUI.
What we know so far is a redesigned system splash screen, as well as a menu for quick settings. However, some system applications should also see changes, such as the camera application. Xiaomi has also prepared several brand new features, including customization of the lock screen.
The new options for setting the locked screen are a kind of combination and inspiration from Apple's operating systems iOS 16 or iOS 17. And they are also complemented by Google's customization options that are part of the operating system Android 14.
In the new HyperOS there will be three different lock screen customization styles: Classic, Magazine and Rhombus. The classic one displays the time, date and weather information, while the magazine style allows you to display your own text in large font. You can always have the text of your choice visible on the screen.
Wide customization options and inspiration from Apple
Another improvement is the creation of a depth map. This means that e.g. in the case of the "Magazine" version, the model's hair is placed as a layer above the own text. This depth effect is optically very attractive. In addition, the style of the diamond is very similar to the new clock widgets Google Double Line. Xiaomi also offers various other watch faces in the Rhombus design.
You can also add special effects to your wallpapers. These, in turn, are very noticeable on the built-in wallpapers from the company Nothing. However, if you do not want to use these effects, the Chinese manufacturer also offers the standard lock screen that you are used to nowadays.
But in general, almost every component on the new lock screen in HyperOS is customizable. Clock display style, font style or date display style. Displaying the weather forecast, UV index, wind speed, temperature or humidity. All this based on your preferences.
