Xiaomi brings under her daughter brand Redmi also an affordable but powerful novelty Redmi Note 8 Pro. However, unlike its predecessors, it has a processor MediaTek G90T.
It is a new generation of powerful, but affordable processor, which, however, replaced the processors Qualcomm Snapdragon from the past. It was this decision of the manufacturer that aroused controversy and mild concern on the part of the fans.
MediaTek and alternative ROM?
In addition to the performance parameters for which MediaTek G90T not to be ashamed, there was usually a problem with the kernel source code and a lower potential for customization. This applies in general to all MediaTek chipsets.
Now, however, Xiaomi is revealing the kernel source code for the model Redmi Note 8 Pro with Android 10 in the womb with the MediaTek processor.
With this decision, it practically helps the creators of alternative ROMs or other improvements and solves one of the most discussed issues regarding these processors. However, the source codes are not yet complete. For example, the touch screen firmware is missing. However, Xiaomi has not officially disclosed these sources, so it is possible that work is still underway.
Fans of alternative ROMs or other advanced device modifications are thus slowly but surely receiving good news. This is also a positive improvement for potential other devices with the MediaTek G90T processor. It is thus possible that even thanks to this step, the MediaTek manufacturer will receive a more positive response to its processors.
