AMOLED panels in displays are becoming more and more popular. Users liked them thanks to beautiful, vivid, but still faithful colors. Where there are many pleasant advantages, there are usually some disadvantages.
There is one feature associated with (AM) OLED displays that can be unpleasantly surprising during long-term use of the smartphone. It is about burning pixels, but in today's article we will look at how most effectively we can prevent this problem.
Suitable gadgets
Gadgets are a common reason for burning pixels on smartphones with AMOLED panels. Widgets on the home screen can often lead to burned-out pixels in the long run.
Gadgets with white or blue may damage the display over time. If the positions of these gadgets do not change for a long time, burned-out parts may start to appear. It is ideal either use some dark color or at least change position widget.
Navigation buttons
Again, another tip from today's list is closely related to white and a non-changing position. We are talking about navigation buttons in the form of a home screen button, back button and multitasking.
To turn off the navigation keys and turn on gestures, follow the steps above:
- Open the settings application
- Select Advanced Settings> Full Screen
- Switch to Full Screen Gestures
In case you don't know how to use gestures, MIUI will teach you in a moment. If you still prefer the navigation keys, change at least the light and dark modes.
Status bar
The following useful tip applies to the status bar, specifically cutouts and spaces. If you have a habit of covering up the software space for a selfie camera and aligning it with the display, you should consider this.
As with the previous two examples, this is a long-term display of the same color. For OLED displays, although the pixels turn off completely, this can also be a problem.
It is ideal if you leave this function off, as a result of which the colors of the displayed pixels on the top of the smartphone will change on a regular basis. Even so, you can prevent the display from burning out.
Playing in moderation
Playing games is an integral part of mobile phones. Games have always been played on old push-button phones, but over time, technology has improved significantly, which can be counterproductive in some cases.
Most games often display static information such as life, amount of ammo, current money, and more. This can lead to the burning of certain places again during long play, so we recommend that you play calmly, but in moderation.
Wallpapers for AMOLED displays
The last piece of advice on how to prevent pixels from burning on your smartphone is to use suitable wallpapers. We brought you a few days ago an article about an application that has such backgrounds.
Application amoledpix has a stock of dark wallpaper in most colors, which can effectively prevent pixel burning. However, if you do not want to use the application, when choosing a new wallpaper, make sure that it is not oversaturated with light colors. It will not hurt to replace the wallpaper with a new one once in a while.
