A subsidiary brand of Chinese tech giant Xiaomi, the company POCO, presented its new smartphone under the name POCO X5Pro 5G, which follows on from last year's model POCO X4 Pro 5G.

Design and display: In both cases 120 Hz AMOLED
At first glance, it may seem that the display in both smartphones is practically identical. So whatever you choose POCO X5Pro 5G, or last year's model POCO X4 Pro 5G, the equipment includes a large up to 6,67″ AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels).
The panel will offer a resulting fineness of 395 ppi and a high refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The update did not come even in the case of the fingerprint sensor, which is located in the side edge and is capacitive. The newer model offers the newer MIUI 14 software, and therefore also AI face unlock via the front camera.
Performance: Upgrade to Snapdragon 778G model
If you require a more powerful processor, when looking at the performance tests, the novelty with an integrated processor leads Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. It reached 535 points in AnTuTu and also has an updated Adreno 000L graphics chip.
However, one should not forget that this is a mid-range smartphone and you can handle the vast majority of game titles even with last year's model and processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G. From the point of view of software support, the older of the two models has the short end of the stick. On the contrary, the novelty offers the Android 12 operating system directly from the factory.
Camera: you can still take 108 MPx photos
POCO X5Pro 5G it offers a main sensor with a resolution of 108 MPx. It is a camera with an aperture of f/1.9, which is also supplemented with an 8 MPx ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2 MPx macro sensor. Its front camera offers 16 MPx.
The Chinese manufacturer probably said that it will not change what works. Because this photographic equipment is almost identical to last year's model POCO X4Pro 5G. The support for 4K video, which only the current model has, will please (X4 Pro 5G supports 1080p video) or creative mode for VLOG.
Connectivity: Improved Wi-Fi connection and Bluetooth
Wireless connectivity is now a very important element of any device connected to the Internet. The new one supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, while the older model only supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. The Bluetooth connection is also a step up from last year's Bluetooth 5.1 standard (X4 Pro 5G) it's Bluetooth 5.2 (for X5 Pro 5G). However, whether you use these benefits is up to you.
Both devices subsequently offer an infrared port for controlling home electronics, dual "stereo" speakers, as well as a standard 3,5 mm audio connector for connecting wired headphones.

Both models have the same battery capacity. It is a lithium-polymer battery that the manufacturer uses in several of its models and has up to 5000 mAh. This is comfortably enough for a full working day of use, with a sufficient reserve in the evening hours.
