Xiaomi is definitely making progress as it has officially started rolling out the stable configuration of the latest version of the operating system Android 14 with MIUI 14 superstructure. It is a big step for the company itself.
Updates to Android 14 are first available only for the domestic Chinese market and have a capacity of more than 6 GB. You can download them now. Their numbers are V14.0.0.4.UMCCNXM for basic Xiaomi 13 a V14.0.0.4.UMBCNXM pre Xiaomi 13 Pro.
Xiaomi is ahead of the competition
Interestingly, however, Google has yet to publicly release stable versions of Android 14, with the latest beta being 5.1. Android 14 recently arrived on registered devices.
However, China's Xiaomi has started pushing Android 14-based builds for flagship smartphones Xiaomi 13 a Xiaomi 13 Pro, about six weeks after a pair of Xiaomi 12T series models opened the MIUI beta.
But first in China
Xiaomi is preparing V14.0.0.11 for Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. However, this new build has only achieved status so far Stable Beta (stable beta). Xiaomi obviously wants to see if there are any bugs by releasing these versions.
Anyway, Xiaomi is rolling out V14.0.0.4 based on Android 14 to both Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. Unsurprisingly, the company rolled out Android 14 to devices registered in China rather than releasing it globally, apparently wanting to iron out all the imperfections.
It all points to the fact that Xiaomi intends to be one of the first Android smartphone manufacturers to fully release Android 14 to some of its products. This would allow it to catch up with such giants as, for example, Google or Samsung.
How surprised were you that the Xiaomi 13 series already has the latest Android 14 available?
