Information that Xiaomi plans to release a successor to its tablet segment has been surfacing for some time. The new desktop mode, which we know from the recently introduced one, should contribute to the efficient use of the large display My MIX FOLD.
The performance already this year
Director Xiaomi, Lei Jun, has already officially confirmed that the company will release the successor to the Mi Pad series after three years. It will be a tablet called Xiaomi Mi Pad 5. The last tablet was the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus, which came on the market in 2018.
Among the fans of the brand, it began to be speculated that the MIUI superstructure itself would have a similarly designed environment with the possibility of switching to the desktop mode offered by Xiaomi Mi MIX FOLD. This is also confirmed by the renowned informant Digital Chat Station, who mentioned this in his status on the social network Weibo.
MIUI for Pad
The new tablet superstructure will be called MIUI for Pad. From MIUI PC, designed for Mi MIX FOLD will not be so different. We expect a bottom bar with a taskbar, access to quick sound switches, wireless networks, and brightness settings. Everything will be fully customizable to user preferences.
The desktop will be very similar to what you already know from desktop operating systems. It will not only have installed applications, but also stored images, documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
The application layout will be fully adapted to the large display to reach its full potential. Launch applications in windows and resize them will help improve productivity. It is also allowed to overlap windows and minimize them to the bottom bar.
Expected specifications Xiaomi Mi Pad 5
The tablet should come with a screen size of almost 11 inches, with LCD technology used, 144-hertz refresh rate and 2K resolution. This is in contrast to the previous generation, where Xiaomi deployed 8-inch displays.
The tablet should be powered by a processor Snapdragon 870 and there will be resolution cameras on the back 20 and 13 MPx. All with weight 510 grams.
The tablet market is still ruled by Apple, and the South Korean Samsung is right behind it. We know about Xiaomi that it can produce quality and well-equipped hardware, which would make it very competitive, as previous generations of Mi Pad tablets have been able to do.
