Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, took advantage of the company's first anniversary celebration Redmi as a separate brand and surprised with his speech. In his statement, among other things, he wanted to share with those present some interesting facts about the beginnings of the brand. He said that what we all know today as Xiaomi could actually be called Xuande.
exactly January 14, 2010 for the first time, a group of founders of a new technology company met to lay the imaginary cornerstone of a new agreement. At that time, none of them had any idea what the new company and, in fact, the brand would be called.
According to the CEO, the brand was Red Star one of the first proposed names. However, the name could not prosper mainly due to certain problems related to other trademarks with a similar name.
Similarly, on January 14th / January, Xiaomi's founders considered possible company names such as "Xuande" or even Red Storm. It could also be "Qianqi", "Antong" or "Lingxi".
In the end, everyone agreed on the now world-famous name Xiaomiwhich is a recognized brand worldwide.
Common abbreviation Mi
In addition to the road to the Xiaomi trademark name, Lei Jun also provided further details regarding the logo "Mi". We find this on almost every product of the company or its packaging. "Mi" is essentially an abbreviation that can have several meanings.
The first is "Mobile Internet", because the company intended to create a network of mobile internet connected products focused on internet telephony.
Similarly, another interesting meaning is Mission Impossible - literally, 'mission impossible'. According to the CEO, the Xiaomi project, which today became the fourth largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world, was quite difficult to imagine. In the beginning, it was practically impossible to build a company to the dimensions we know it today.
Undoubtedly, some very interesting statements show us the degree of humility of each of the founders of Xiaomi. We must not forget that the main goal of the brand was nothing more than to offer the end user in an affordable way all the wonders and benefits that technology offers.
