In addition to wired, wireless and reverse charging for you Xiaomi preparing another surprise. This is a patent for sound chargingwhich may change the standard way you charge your devices.
Xiaomi and new sound charging technology
You can charge a 4000 mAh battery in just 8 minutes even wirelessly. These were Xiaomi's latest innovations that undoubtedly promise a revolution in charging your smartphone. Now, however, the Chinese manufacturer is adding a patent for another, futuristic way of charging.
Indeed, the patent demonstrates that Xiaomi has apparently managed to devise a charging mechanism that is able to obtain energy through ambient sound. This is a really curious deed, about which we do not yet know the detailed information.
According to EqualLeaks, the Chinese manufacturer has registered a new patent with publication number CN112994199A, in which the charging mechanism is designed by sound. This will ensure that any device in range remains constantly charged.
Three key phases of audio charging from Xiaomi
As we can see in the attached picture, this new design from Xiaomi is divided into three main phases:
- Surrounding traffic resp. the sound waves are collected through a receiving coil.
- Subsequently, the waves captured as magnetic vibrations are converted into alternating current, in particular on the principle of electromagnetism.
- Finally, AC power is converted to direct current, which is typically used to charge standard mobile device batteries or other electronics.
In this way, Xiaomi transforms the long-known principle of electromagnetism into the possibility of charging various types of electronics using sound waves. This technology still has a long way to go, but it undoubtedly has potential for the future.
