Xiaomi has introduced a new conference speaker device to the Chinese market called the Xiaomi Audio and Video Conference Speaker. It targets customers and the current pandemic time, when online conferences are preferred to face-to-face conferences.
Soundbar-like design
The Xiaomi Audio and Video Conference Speaker has a soundbar-like design and a black plastic finish. In the middle of it is a camera that allows video calls.
The camera has 4K resolution and its sensor has up to 120-degree viewing angle. So a really good connection will not be an emergency. In addition to the camera, the speaker also contains up to 5 built-in microphones.
Everything is taken care of by a Qualcomm processor called APQ8053. It is 8-core processor manufactured with 14-nanometer technology and is sufficient to control all processes.
The speaker itself has power 10 Wwhich is enough value for conference calls to the office. The speaker also includes a special DSP processor that specializes in signal processing.
Bluetooth connectivity and program support
Bluetooth wireless technology version 5.0 can also be used for connection. The pairing button is located on the top of the speaker. At the bottom we find a universal connector for connection to any tripod.
Supported programs include giants like Zoom, Microsoft teams or Skype.
In addition to the speaker, the package also includes a practical remote control, several cables for connection, a set for wall mounting and a brief manual.
Price and availability
The Xiaomi Audio and Video Conference Speaker is intended for the domestic Chinese market and will be available for purchase from June 10 at 10:00 for the price of 1 yuan, which is approximately 999 euros. It is not yet known whether it will reach the international market in time.
