Modern flagship smartphones from the company Xiaomi they offer an AMOLED display with an integrated fingerprint sensor below the surface of the screen. And in today's article, we will tell you how to eliminate unsuccessful attempts to unlock the device.
How do you eliminate failed unlocks?
Locking and unlocking a smartphone based on a security element has always been considered a fundamental pillar of the security of the device itself. Until recently, we were used to unlocking based on a pattern for unlocking or based on a PIN code. However, with the arrival of the fingerprint sensor, there was a significant change in the segment.
As a Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi has always been a pioneer in incorporating the latest technology into its smartphones. As for the fingerprint sensor, it was included in almost all Xiaomi smartphones, and currently even the cheapest model includes this element. Today we will show you how to eliminate potential unlocking errors.
A few simple steps will suffice
In addition to the level of security, the user experience of the security element itself is very important. Unlocking should be as fast as possible, and this is where Xiaomi comes in. The unlocking speed has improved over the years, even with optical and capacitive sensors on the structure. However, it also happens that the sensor does not recognize your fingerprint.
If you have clean fingers without grease on your stomach and your sensor still fails occasionally, a simple and effective solution is to upload another (identical) fingerprint. This option is offered directly by the MIUI graphic superstructure from Xiaomi. Another and identical fingerprint will help you with faster and smoother unlocking and eliminate the risk of failure.
If you want to add additional fingerprints on your smartphone as well, perform the following steps:
- Go to Settings
- Select Passwords and security
- In this menu, select the Unlock with fingerprint option
- You can then add a new fingerprint - e.g. "Fingerprint 3"
Always use the same finger and create several fingerprint samples (which will be the same in reality). Thanks to this, your Xiaomi smartphone will be a little faster and will not make unnecessary mistakes that will delay you when unlocking with your fingerprint.
However, another use of this function is if you want to create secondary access to the device, e.g. of your child or parent. In that case, however, you are adding a different print from the original one.
