For several days now, a new "bloated" photo sensor for smartphones has been rumored in technological corridors. A pair of manufacturers Samsung a Xiaomi they jointly announced the arrival of two new camera sensors for smartphones. Their parameters are really very interesting.
64 MPx and 100 MPx
Initial information was published via Twitter social network where the value is even up to 108 MPx. However, the fact remains that the officially confirmed and presented values are 64 and 100 MPx. Both sensors should reach the upper middle class, but also flagship smartphones Xiaomi a Redmi.
"Sixty-four" in Redmi smartphones?
The new 64 MPx sensor will be named Samsung ISOCELL GW1, while a special algorithm will bring ultra-clear photos in full resolution. Thanks to Tetracell technology, which connects pixels, 16 MPx photos will also be available in poor light conditions. This sensor could be used, for example, in more affordable ones Redmi smartphones.
The 1 / 1,7 ″ sensor should provide enough potential to print a poster with a total length of up to 3,26 meters (however, this is a 72 dpi print). The sensor itself should be up to 34% larger than the standard 48 MPx sensors in the current flagship models.
Sensor Samsung GW1 offers technology ISOCELL PLUS, which will also bring a new innovative material for photodiodes, which should result in the minimization of optical losses and light reflections. Dual Conversion Gain (DCG) technology then ensures the correct ISO value in all lighting conditions.
Full equipment worthy of flagship models
The second sensor, which was introduced, is a real gem in the field of mobile photography. 100 MPx sensor contains up to 108 million pixels and a brutal resolution of 12032 x 9024 pixels. It is a sensor designed for the best-equipped, high-end smartphone, breaking the 100 MPx limit for the first time in mobile cameras.
In addition, the ultra-high resolution of 100 MPx offers full-fledged 27 MPx photo using double zoom (current telephoto lenses offer, for example, 12 MPx). Thanks to our above-average resolution and suitable optimization, we should also see top photos in poor lighting conditions.
